About Us
Hi, I’m Susha (pronounced like Suh-sha). I’m an Educational and Developmental Psychologist, and Board Approved Supervisor with almost 15 years experience working with young people and their families in schools and in private practice. I started Discovery Psychology with the intention to help young people discover and understand their unique selves. I work from a strengths based model to support mental health, wellbeing and learning. I truly believe in the importance of a strong therapuetic relationship, and value connecting with young people first and foremost.
I am a mother to two young children and a cat.
Assessments
At Discovery Psychology, we provide cognitive, educational, neurodevelopmental and behavioural assessments for ages 6+.
With years of experience in schools, I provide valuable and realistic recommendations that schools and families are able to implement. I dive in to the assessment process in a neuro-affirming way, assisting young people to understand themselves, discover their strengths and find ways to support their challenges.
I’m passionate about assessing for specific learning disorders such as dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia, ADHD, giftedness, general learning differences and intellectual developmental disorder.
I offer neurodiversity affirming autism assessments for children, teens and young adults age 8 - 25. and understand that autism can present in different ways.
Counselling/Therapuetic Support
I provide support for ages 10+ using a person centred, and personalised approach to suit individual needs. At Discovery Psychology, we are accepting of all differences and individuals and believe in neurodiversity affirming, gender affirming and trauma informed care and support.
I can provide support via a Mental Health Care Plan through Medicare, through self managed and plan managed NDIS, or privately without a rebate. See the FAQ section for further details.
